About this tour

The Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Garden, commonly known as the Pamplemousses Botanical Garden,  is a popular tourist attraction and is the oldest botanical garden in the Southern Hemisphere. The garden was first constructed by Pierre Poivre (1719 – 1786) in 1770, and covers an area of around 37 hectares.

Cap Malheureux – The red-roofed church sits on the beach of Cap Malheureux and is attributed to many sources. Some say it was named after the sinking of the vessel Saint Geran on August 18, 1744, which inspired Bernardin  de St Pierre to write his famous novel Paul & Virginie. Others believe it owes its name to the numerous shipwrecks  that occurred in this area at the beginning of the colonization of the island. Witness the amazing surrounding where the local fisherman can be spotted catching a fresh meal.

Belle Mare –
The beach at Belle Mare is considered as the most beautiful beach in Mauritius by many holiday makers, but also remains very popular among the inhabitants of the island who visit the beach mainly on weekends and holidays. This part of the island is very authentic and keeps the spirit of the island intact facing the rapid development. The Belle Mare beach is ideal for swimming and diving session especially on weekdays, the beach is calm with a peaceful setting.
